Hollywood legend Celebrity Jerry Lewis dies at age 91

Comedian & Celebrity Jerry Lewis aged 91 died Sunday morning at his home in Las Vegas.

Lewis passed away Sunday morning of natural causes in Las Vegas, with his family by his side.

He began his career as a 5-year-old in his parents vaudeville act, but comes to stardom when he teamed up with iconic artiste Dean Martin at the age of 20.

In the late 40s and early 50s, Martin and Lewis became celeb stars as the iconic singer would play straight man to Lewis’ zany antics in clubs athwart the continent.

The duo featured in over a dozen films together, but as Lewis’s stardom began to stand out brighter, tensions rose. The duo suffered an discordant crumble in 1956.

After becoming a singly act, Lewis persistent to star in such attribute classics as the Nutty Professor and The Bellboy.

His yearly Labor Day Weekend telethons to elevate funds for muscular dystrophy, which were held from 1966 until 2010, were as legendary as the man himself.
His fundraising hard work won him the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award at the 2009 Oscar broadcast, an honour he said “touches my heart and the very depth of my soul.”

Tributes to the legendary comic actor poured in on social media immediately after his death announcement.
